On April 10th, 2020, HUD issued a list of waivers allowing PHAs additional flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic. To view the waivers implemented by Housing Works, please click here. NOTE: Most COVID waivers expired on December 31, 2021. Please contact your Housing Specialist for additional information.

UPCOMING OFFICE CLOSURES

Housing Works offices will be closed the following dates for Spring and Summer 2023:

  • Monday May 29th for Memorial Day
  • Tuesday June 6th from 12pm to 2pm for Staff Development
  • Monday June 19th for Juneteenth – Freedom Day
  • Tuesday July 4th for Independence Day
  • Monday September 4th for Labor Day

Phone lines and email communication will resume outside of these dates and under regular office hours.

Exterior doors will be locked outside of these hours. A drop box is conveniently placed on the front of our building for easy access, should you need to turn in paperwork after hours.

HOUSING WORKS

Emergency Housing Vouchers

As of July 1, 2021 Housing Works issued Emergency Housing Vouchers to eligible referrals in collaboration with the Anti Trafficking Project, Homeless Leadership Coalition and Saving Grace. If you would like more information regarding these vouchers and where to apply, click here.

In order to be determine eligibility, applicants must first be referred by Central Oregon’s Continuum of Care or a Victim Service Provider. When vouchers become fully leased, our partners will continue to maintain an interest list. Eligible applicants on the interest list will be referred by a partner agency when vouchers become available. To be referred and determine if you qualify, please connect with one of our partners below.

Welcome to the Housing Works website.  Here you will find information and resources on all aspects of housing services including rental assistance, apartment communities and home buying programs.  We are the local housing authority for Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson counties. We offer the Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance program funded by HUD, affordable housing for rent through our award winning apartment communities, and home ownership opportunities.  In addition, this site will also provide you information on our client services programs that feature asset building, opportunities for kids and family sustainability.
