Jill R. had owned a home before, but couldn’t keep it when she became disabled and was unable to work. She was living in Washington but eager to make a fresh start in Central Oregon, and hopeful she might be able to once again afford to own.
Through Housing Works, Jill completed PATHWorks financial literacy classes and a home-buying class. Living on a fixed income, she was very conscious of sticking to her budget, while maintaining perfect credit and a stable income.
Then she found the ideal affordable home in Redmond. Now she uses her Section 8 voucher to help pay a portion of her mortgage—and she’s once again under her own roof.
