Nearly a year after a horrific car accident, Randall J. awoke from a coma, not knowing if he would survive, let alone walk and talk again. He had lost everything and had to learn a new way of life—living with disabilities. 
But Randall never gave up on his dream of owning his own home. He was receiving Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance from Housing Works when he learned about the Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Option.
With coaching from Housing Works, he developed a plan of action– a monthly budget, debt reduction, a VIDA savings account [link]–and completed financial literacy and homeownership classes.
His motivation paid off. “I am so excited to live in a brand new home where everything works,” Randall says. “I am no longer at the mercy of a landlord taking care of his property or neighbors trying to take advantage of me.”
